Machine Protection Plans

With harvest passed and planning for 2018 in the beginning stages, it is a good time for you to consider where you stand in regards to warranty cover on your Case IH machines, especially if you run later model equipment. We all know that with the current economic climate, many operations are running their equipment longer than in years past and/or are purchasing late model pre-owned equipment, instead of new. Whether you are continuing to run your present equipment, or are considering a late model pre-owned unit, we strongly encourage you to take a serious look at the Case IH Purchase Protection Plan (PPP) extended warranty program.

If you are not sure when the current base warranty is up on units in your existing fleet, please contact your local Straub Service Manager, and he can quickly look it up for you in the Case IH warranty system. Typically Case IH tractors carry a two year base warranty, while other equipment is one year. While the best pricing for a PPP is at the time of purchase, there is still very attractive pricing on plans purchased within a machine’s base warranty period, plus all plan options are generally still available for purchase in that time frame. Once the base warranty expires there are still certain plans available (typically power train), and the premiums will increase.

If you are considering purchasing a late model pre-owned Case IH machine this winter, make sure you ask your Straub Sales Consultant for plan information and pricing, as part of the overall purchase package.

Plans include Power Train, Power Train Plus, and Premier packages, each adding additional coverage. Your Straub Sales Consultant can easily print off the components that each plan covers, in order for you to make the best decision in regards to coverage. Several levels of deductibles are typically also available.

Farming operations do need to keep in mind that today’s Tier 4 Emission engines, electronic controlled powershift and CVT transmissions, along with many other components are manufactured to much tighter tolerances than ever before, and are much more expensive to repair, if necessary. The cost of a PPP can be a fraction of the cost to overhaul or replace and engine or transmission.

Plans are available for the following Case IH equipment:

  • Round and Large Square Balers
  • Self-Propelled Windrowers, along with rotary disc and draper headers
  • Combines
  • Combine Headers
  • Tractors
  • Planters
  • Self-Propelled Sprayers

In closing, purchasing a Case IH Purchase Protection Plan will also ensure you that your equipment will be repaired in an authorized Case IH dealer’s service department, with genuine Case IH parts. If you have equipment approaching the warranty expiration date, make sure you get with us at least a week before that date for proper application and processing of the plan.
