Mid-Size Tractors….Choices, Choices…

If you are in the market for a mid-size tractor for haying and loader work, it is understandable that you could be a bit confused about all of the different series and models that Case IH offers in that segment. Let’s start with some basic facts concerning these Case IH product lines:

  • Case IH Farmall C, U, and 100A series tractors all feature a common cab, with interior feature changes, depending on the series and options
  • Case IH Maxxum and Puma series tractors both feature a common cab, again with interior feature changes, depending on the series and options
  • Each of these cab designs lead the industry in their respective segments in size, glass area, comfort, convenience, visibility both to the ground, as well as to loaders extended to full height, with roof mounted view windows (optional on some models)
  • All large frame Farmall C, U, and 100A series tractors, along with both the Maxxum and Puma lines are SCR only emissions, for simplicity of design, maximum performance, and superior fuel savings

Farmall C Series Line Up

  • 64-117 engine horsepower in two frame sizes and six models
  • 2wd or MFD
  • Cab or Open Station
  • Available with a factory installed Case IH L600 series loaders
  • Several transmission choices including mechanical shuttle, synchro shuttle, and power shuttle
  • Open center hydraulics
  • The Farmall C’s are a cut above the average utility tractor with the available cab and axle features and options

 

Farmall U Series

  • 110-120 engine horsepower in two models
  • Cab MFD configuration only
  • NEW 16/16 semi-power shift transmission w/ optional auto shift feature
  • Available with dealer mounted Case IH L745 loader
  • Open center hydraulics
  • The Farmall U’s are a premium utility tractor with features normally only found in higher horsepower and more expensive tractors

 

Farmall 100A Series

  • 110-140 engine horsepower in four models
  • 2wd or MFD front axles
  • Cab or Open Station
  • 8×8 or 16×8 transmissions with mechanical shuttles
  • Open center hydraulic system
  • Available with Case IH L755 loaders
  • The Farmall 100A series tractors are an economy tractor within the 100-140 horsepower market segment, with their standard mechanical transmission options, but do have a large frame to handle rugged chores around many operations

 

Maxxum Series

  • 115-150 engine horsepower in five models
  • Standard controls and deluxe multi-controller armrest control versions
  • Cab 2wd and MFD versions (2wd available only in standard control versions)
  • 16/16 semi-power shift or CVT transmission options
  • Available with Case IH L755 loader
  • Available with either open center or PFC hydraulics
  • Optional Case IH AFS read configuration
  • NEW ISOBUS Class III technology to be utilized with ISOBUS Class III Case IH RB series round balers, for optimal baling efficiency
  • Available cab and front axle suspension systems
  • The Maxxum line up offers tremendous capability of configuring a tractor just for your requirements, with multiple transmission, suspension, and control options.

 

Puma Series

  • 150-240 engine horsepower in two frame sizes
  • Full 18 speed power shift or CVT transmission options
  • Optional Case IH AFS read configuration
  • NEW ISOBUS Class III technology to be utilized with ISOBUS Class III Case IH RB series round balers, for optimal baling efficiency
  • Available cab and front axle suspension systems
  • Deluxe multi-controller armrest is standard equipment
  • Available with Case IH L765 & L775 loaders
  • The Puma series are premium haying and loader operation tractors, that can also easily be utilized in row crop operations with full auto guidance capabilities.
